The 2006 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
See our announcement board for frequent updates on TIFF events.

The 31st Toronto International Film Festival runs from Sept. 7 to 16, 2006. The festival features 352 films from 61 countries, and draws hundreds of world premieres and celebrities from J. Lo to John Waters, Borat to Brad Pitt.

Let it be known that you either partake in the Toronto annual Film Fest for the movies or for the parties. Rarely can one do both. We at W4W Toronto are highly anticipating the fabulous parties that we already have a heads up on. We will keep you updated on the party locations as soon as we have the information.

In the meantime, here are some Toronto "hot spots" where one is likely to mix with celebrities and actors during the two weeks of the Film Fest.

The Drake, great for star-gazing but apparently only during TIFF.

Amber a Yorkville staple known for its cozy, South Beach like patio. Here, one is likely to see the likes of Colin Farrell.

Lobby close to Bloor & Avenue Rd. on any night will be great to see only the very hip.

The The Social on a Friday or Saturday early evening.

The Panorama Lounge, high atop the Manulife building at Bay and Bloor

The lobby of the Soho Metropolitan

The lobby of Hotel le Germain

Almost sure fire places to eat and have a chance encounter with a celeb are: Doku 15 in the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Senses at the Soho Metropolitan, as well as any number of restaurants in Yorkville including, Hemingway’s and Sassafraz

Places to shop: Jie Avenue where the likes of Heather Mills and Nelly Furtado go. As well, style mavens with bulging wallets get coiffed on the exclusive second floor.

Ransom Holding is part of the same retail family that includes Goodfoot and Nomad. If you can afford it, scope for new hand gear and shoes at Corbó Boutique.

Official star-gazing list of the 2006 TIFF (those who have already committed themselves): Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, J-Lo, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Christian Bale, Colin Farrell, Tom Hanks, Christina Ricci, Liam Neeson, Rachel Bilson, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Gabriel Byrne, Ed Harris, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jude Law, Juliette Binoche, Pierce Brosnan, Penelope Cruz, Rachel Weisz, Reese Witherspoon, Tim Robbins, Vince Vaughan and Sacha Baron-Cohen, Bobcat (now Bob) Goldthwait (with his directorial debut), and Yoko Ono.

Comments:
Ok, so we are going to Brad Pitt's party and then possibly Jessica Simpson's party if she gets over her cold.

Bring your camera!

See you tonight.

George.
